Dr. Jan to Donda West - My bad

Wassup, Y'all!

This is why folks need to look past a doctor's glossy website and canned reviews and get to the actual factuals. Even if it turns out that Dr. Jan Adams, the Cali plastic surgeon who made a few adjustments to Ms. West the day before she died, isn't criminally culpable in her death, a quick pre-surgery check on homey would have turned up the following publicly known facts that should have steered her clear of cousin...

According to the LA Times:
  1. "Earlier this year, [Dr. Jan], was served with a complaint from the Medical Board of California and state attorney general’s office seeking to revoke or suspend his medical license. The officials cited his multiple criminal convictions for alcohol-related offenses since 2003."
  2. Dr. Jan "has also recorded at least two major medical malpractice settlements totaling nearly half a million dollars and has been sued by several patients in other cases, court records show"
  3. Dr. Jan "is not certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, though state law permits medical doctors like him to perform plastic surgery even without board certification"
Dang. Come on now! Man, we ask more questions at the car dealer when we're trying to shave off that last $100 for the Gold Package! Isn't your life a little more serious than that? This ain't Nip/Tuck, y'all! Surgery is serious business, especially general surgery.

If you want to be any more scared about that, check out the trailer to the upcoming movie 'Awake' below. This joint stars Terrence Howard as an unscrupulous heart surgeon. The movie plays off the "horrifying phenomenon wherein a patient's failed anesthesia leaves him fully conscious but physically paralyzed during surgery" so you know the trailer is deep... Apparently this happens to 1 of every 700 general surgery patients that go under. The only thing worse? What happened to Donda West...

When it comes to your life - always get the actual factuals y'all.

Peace@Least,

Tyrone
